Update v0.1


Version 0.1 of Witch of the Endless Winter is now available.

Thanks to the feedback the game got from the Strawberry Jam, there are now several fixes and improvements to the game, and some new content.

New Content

  • Character portraits can now show different expressions, which have been added for Fiona and Tobias.
  • New animation for the Tobias + Thea igloo event 2.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • The game and minimap now keep track of all the wrong paths you've taken, marked by a red X on the minimap, and warning you if you're about to enter one again.
  • Fixed a bug with scene transitions being triggered by your party members instead of you.
  • Fixed a bug where character shadows were disappearing when you entered the forest.
  • Removed a dev feature that was accidentally left enabled, which let you remove your clothes at any point.

I'm very happy to see that you have decided to continue development after the Jam! This was one of the game that I really hoped to see more of.

The map markings do a lot to improve the experience, great addition! You can try increasing the Z-index of the X's to ensure that they always get drawn on top of the other map elements.

The portrait expressions and new animations are also neat, I'm starting to get more of an idea about how all of this will play out!

Thanks! There's still some things missing for the core mechanics and gameplay loop, but I am happy with how it's turning out so far.

I'll fix the X marks too, thanks for pointing that out.
